Conservation Easement Monitoring
Conservation easements must be monitored each year, either remotely or on the ground, to ensure compliance with the terms of the easement and to document any changes in the condition of the land.
Consistent monitoring of conserved properties is the key to good stewardship. Our goal is to build positive relationships with effective and efficient monitoring as well as detailed and timely reporting.
Monitoring entails review of the baseline report, conservation easement deed and previous monitoring reports as well as checking ownership of the easement property in the county parcel records to ensure that no subdivision violation has occurred.
We can work within your timeline and budget to meet your monitoring needs, either using your organization's monitoring form or our form that was designed to meet Land Trust Alliance standards.
Ask us about converting your paper system to a user-friendly mobile monitoring system that works offline using tablets or phones. This system integrates a map with the easement boundary, photo points, track, and captioned photos.
